Is My Pregnancy "High Risk"?

Your primary obstetrician decides if your pregnancy is high risk. Our physicians and professional staff will work closely with your primary obstetrician to develop a comprehensive plan of care to achieve the best outcome for you and your baby.  During your visit, you will receive an in-depth consultation with either Dr. Al-Malt or Dr. Christensen to discuss your pregnancy needs and concerns.  If a procedure is necessary, the physician will provide a detailed explanation of the benefits, limitations and risks of the procedure. You may be considered "high risk" if your pregnancy is complicated by any of the following:

  • Multiple gestation (Twins, Triplets or more)
  • Severe toxemia or hypertension
  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Autoimmune disease
  • Diabetes or other endocrine disease
  • Thyroid disease
  • Antiphospholipid Syndrome
  • Maternal or Fetal infections
  • Fetal growth problems
  • Amniotic fluid abnormality
  • History of preterm labor or delivery
  • History of cervical incompetence or DES exposure

Appointments

We schedule appointments by referral from your primary obstetrician.  We make every effort to see patients at their scheduled appointment time; however, due to the nature of our practice with emergency work-ins, hospital emergencies, telephone calls or unexpected ultrasound findings, we may occasionally get behind in our schedule.  We will make every effort to notify you when these situations occur.  We request your cooperation and understanding during these times.

Fees and Payment

We pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality of healthcare.  Although we participate with many insurance plans, it is ultimately patient responsibility to know what coverage she has.  Services rendered that are not covered by the insurance plan are the responsibility of the patient.  Copays and deductibles are due and payable at the time of each visit.  We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard and personal checks with proper ID.  If you should have financial concerns, please feel free to discuss payment arrangements prior to your visit.

Cell Phones

We request that cells phones are put on silent while in the office.

Children

Due to the nature of our practice, we ask that you make every effort not to bring small children with you to your appointment.   We offer only the highest quality of care and in order to achieve our goals we need to focus on you and your concerns.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding and allowing us to be partners in your healthcare.
